Flight Simulator 2000 This game will obviously not interest everybody so if you do not like flying or have no interest in planes, read no further. This is a screenshot at Stansted airport in London. Click to enlarge... The worst thing about this game is the operating system that it requires. This game requires a high spec processor and I think anything above a PIII 550 should be adequate but for best results you should have at least an PIII 800 with 256mb RAM and a good 3D graphics card. With all this in mind sit back and enjoy the flight, lifejackets are located...er...nah. This game allows you to do a lot of things you would have always liked to do (or not, whatever) whether it be flying under a bridge upside down, or just trying to see your own house (some chance). It is fun whatever plane you decide to take for a spin, that is, at least until you crash because your keyboard just wasn't designed with flight simulator in mind. It can keep you entertained for a while with its lessons and adventures although I do recall the instructor threatening to bail out while I was demonstrating my controversial flying skills! The adventures include watching a volcano erupt, attempting to land in Red Square in Moscow whilst trying to avoid being shot down.. Then there is just an ordinary "fly for the fun of it" flights. You can also download fighter jets off the 'net' but you cannot fire missiles etc. which is bad. Overall, I think this is a pretty good game but if you don't like the sound of it, I wouldn't advise buying it,, this game is not 'pick up and play' type, it requires patience and understanding ("What? I have to use my brain?") and the annoying thing is that each keyboard command does a different thing and it is hard to remember which is which. ("So this button makes me fly and this button makes me stop?") It is not like another Microsoft game 'Crimson Skies' in which you just hit a few buttons and you are flying. So if you can't be bothered trying to learn key commands you will also not enjoy this game,
(Most of the planes, airports etc. in the screenshots were downloaded off places like FlightSim.Com and are available for free. So if you want more than what Microsoft gives you just go to it.)
